a modest proposal

A modest proposal is a story about a man who is proposing something to end overpopulation and unemployment, in this essay I’m going to relate the values of fairness and justice to the story, but first I’m going to give the definition of the two.

Fairness is the state, condition or quality of being fair, or free from bias or injustice or the quality of treating people equally or in a way that is right or responsible.Justice is the legalor philosophical theory by which fairness is administered. As with most philosophically-driven disciplines, the concept of justice differs in every culture. An early theory of justice was set out by the Ancient Greek philosopher Plato in his work The Republic. The difference between those values is that Fairness is the quality of making judgments that are free from discrimination. Justice is an action that is morally right and fair.

I think that in the story those values aren’t relate because at the beginning of the story it starts with a great injustice that it´s causing the unemployment in Ireland, because England I taking all of the money that Ireland is making, and this makes an economic problem in Ireland.

Johnathan swift knows that Ireland is passing thru some problems , so he makes a proposal to end the overpopulation an unemployment in Ireland but I think that this proposal is not even fair for the children because  the children at the age of one year old don’t even think and they are not aware about what’s happening , so  I think that it’s not good that the poor people sell their babies so the rich people could buy them and eat them like it was nothing , and the poor could have money so they can buy things they want.

Johnathan says that the families by selling the kids will have a better relation , that the husband will love more his wife and that father will value more their kids , but this is so ignorant because why  if you sell your kid will enhance your relation with your wife or why if you sell your kid you will value him or her more if you should value him or her from the beginning by not selling him or her.

For the conclusion I think that this proposal is so ignorant first because he in his word said that he don’t have kids , so I think he says that because he doesn’t know the feeling that is to have a kid , and second because this that he is saying is cannibalism , he is promoting it and also because they are babies
